Connect the book with practical decisions

How can I recognise a trading idea without spending all day watching charts? Tradingcode’s signals can help you examine a planned entry, exit and explanation alongside the concepts in the book.

Understand the plan for a trade

The market, entry, stop-loss and targets provide a framework to assess. The explanation helps you understand the idea. You decide whether to trade and how much risk to take.

Review ideas in your own time

Review an idea when you have time to assess it properly. You do not need to act on every signal, and you can skip an entry that no longer fits the plan.

Identify what you need to understand

Use the explanation to identify what you understand and what needs further study. Do not place an order until the market, position size and risk are clear to you.

Market Notes

Put market movements in context.

Market context helps you understand why a price may be moving. Check the relevant events and economic calendar before deciding whether a trade still fits your plan.

How the ideas were described in practice

These historical examples show an entry, stop-loss, targets and reasoning. They illustrate how an idea was described; they are not current recommendations or a representative sample of every outcome.

Example 1

Dow Jones Short

720 points to Take Profit 2
EntryAround 49,070, after support broke
Stop-LossMoved to the entry price after Take Profit 1
Take Profit 148,650, reached
Take Profit 248,350

Reasoning: Support around 49,070 had held several times. The break below it suggested further downside; lower highs and lower lows supported the bearish interpretation.

Example 2

DAX Short

410 points to Take Profit 2
EntryBelow 24,450, after a close below support
Stop-LossTo the entry price after Take Profit 1
Take Profit 124,210
Take Profit 224,040

Reasoning: After a record high, the DAX moved sideways and opened with a downward gap. Support around 24,450 had held repeatedly. A falling channel helped define the entry and targets.

How points translate into money

The figures below illustrate the same 237 recorded trades using different account sizes, with 1% risk per trade and an assumed stop distance of 50 points. These hypothetical accounts are in pounds sterling, with an assumed GBP value per index point. This is a separate worked example, not a currency conversion of actual account returns or a recommendation of account size. Actual contract values, currency conversion and trading costs depend on the instrument and broker.

Starting capital Risk per trade Position size Result Feb 2026 to Oct 2026 Largest drawdown
£1,000 £10 £0.20 per point +£696 (+69.6 %) −£48
£2,500 £25 £0.50 per point +£1,741 (+69.6 %) −£120
£10,000 £100 £2.00 per point +£6,962 (+69.6 %) −£480

Changing the position size changes both potential gains and losses. The trading idea alone does not determine your financial result.

Illustration using fixed risk per trade, excluding spreads, fees and financing costs. Past results do not guarantee future profits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the current access terms?

Follow the English access link and read the requirements and current terms. Availability, prices and any trial conditions are set by Tradingcode.

Why does the broker account matter?

Tradingcode explains which broker account is required for your country. Follow the correct country route and read the account terms. An account relationship does not remove trading risk.

How are the trading ideas delivered?

Tradingcode provides its delivery and access details during registration. A signal is an idea to assess; you remain responsible for entering, managing and closing any trade.

How often should I act on an idea?

The number and timing of ideas depend on market conditions. You do not need to follow every idea. Skip a signal if you cannot assess it properly or the planned entry has passed.

Which markets are covered?

Examples can cover major indices, currencies, commodities and shares. Product availability depends on your country and broker. Do not assume every market in a historic record can be traded through your account.

How should I think about starting capital?

Choose any live account size in light of what you can afford to lose and the smallest position the broker allows. A minimum deposit is not a recommendation to trade. Study charts and prepare your plan before placing an order.

How can I plan the risk?

Decide your maximum acceptable loss before an order, calculate the position size and understand how the stop is expected to work. Gaps and slippage can lead to a worse execution price. No percentage is suitable for everyone.

What should I know about real-money trading?

We recommend real trading accounts. Only place an order when you understand its costs and potential loss, and use money you can afford to lose. Signals do not replace your own risk limits.

What should I understand first?

You should understand the instrument, position sizing and how to enter and manage orders. Read the foundations in the book and practise the controls before considering a live trade.

Why are results shown in points?

Points describe the market’s price movement. Your financial outcome also depends on the instrument, size, currency, execution and charges. The worked example above makes some of these assumptions visible.
